[YesAuto racing exposure] Peugeot released the 2008 DKR racing car for the 2015 Dakar race in April this year. Recently, they sent photos of the road test of this car and revealed more about this car information.
First of all, in terms of power, this Dakar car will be equipped with a V6 twin-turbocharged diesel engine with a maximum power of not less than 340 horsepower. In addition, this car is very likely to adopt a rear-wheel drive layout. If they can win the 2015 Dakar Rally, it will be the first 2WD (two-wheel drive) diesel engine car to win this event.
The optimized design of the chassis allows the car to have a 460mm suspension stroke, which not only has a stronger passing ability, but also allows it to be fitted with larger tires (Michelin mud tires with a diameter of 37 inches). At the same time, without a complicated four-wheel drive system, it will also have a lighter “weight.”
In the 2015 Dakar Rally, famous rally drivers Peterhansel, Carlos Sainz and Cyril Depre will drive this 2008 DKR car to represent the Peugeot Total team (Team Peugeot Total). (Compilation/Auto House Guo Feng)
