  7. 6.2-liter V8-powered Mercedes-Benz AMG...

[YesAuto racing release] After several warm-ups, Mercedes-Benz finally officially released the new AMG GT3 racing car, which is built in accordance with the FIA GT3 group rules and will replace the SLS AMG GT3 racing car. The new car is expected to be unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

What's surprising about the AMG GT3 racing car is that it is not equipped with the new 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine on the road version. On the contrary, its power source is the 6.2-liter V8 self-priming engine equipped on the outgoing SLS AMG GT3, but it has undergone some improvements. The data on this engine has not yet been announced, but Mercedes-Benz has given a choice. Reasons for the engine: Reliability and low maintenance cost. In addition, the engine is matched with a six-speed sequential gearbox.

AMG GT3 racing car body is equipped with a large number of aerodynamics kits. At the same time, compared with the road version, the engine compartment cover, doors, front and rear fenders, side skirts, trunk lid, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler of the AMG GT3 racing car Flow plates, etc., are all made of carbon fiber materials.

The interior of the car adopts a lightweight aluminum alloy tube frame mechanism, and a welded anti-roll frame. In addition, it is also equipped with a digital racing dashboard, a multi-function racing steering wheel, and carbon fiber racing seats. The AMG GT3 racing car will be on sale soon, and it is expected that the first batch of racing cars will be delivered by the end of this year. (Compilation/Auto House Guo Feng)
