[YesAuto Racing Exposure] A few days ago, Mitsubishi Motors released their new car for the 2014 Pikes Peak Hill Climb-MiEV Evolution III, which will be officially unveiled at the opening ceremony of the race on June 29.
MiEV Evolution III is a racing car specially developed for Pikes Peak Mountain Climbing, and has been developed to the third generation model. The MiEV Evolution III racing car is an upgrade from the MiEV Evolution II racing car last year. First of all, it optimizes the body structure and aerodynamic design, uses a new aerodynamic kit and undergoes wind tunnel tests, so that the car can get more downforce when driving.
In terms of power, MiEV Evolution III is driven by four electric motors with a total power of 611 horsepower, which is 68 horsepower higher than the previous MiEV Evolution II model. In addition, this car is also equipped with S-AWC super all-wheel drive system to help improve handling performance.
The drivers driving the MiEV Evolution III to challenge the 2014 Pikes Peak Hill Climb are Greg Tracy and Hirochi Masuoka. The former is the six-time Pikes Peak Hill Climb champion, and the latter holds two Dakar Rally titles. With stronger cars and better drivers, Mitsubishi's performance in the Pikes Peak mountain climb this year is worth looking forward to. (Compilation/Auto House Guo Feng)
