[YesAuto News] The full name of Rally Rally in Xinjiang, China, is the most difficult and challenging off-road rally in China. Its greatest charm is that the stage is set around the Taklimakan Desert in Xinjiang, which is known as the sea of death. The region and the difficulty of the stage even gave it the reputation of “Oriental Dakar”. Since it was first held in 2005, the Tournament has become more mature. Before the arrival of the new ring tower in 2011, let us review the situation of the five ring tower competitions since its inception. (The pictures and schedule records in the text are from online reports)
2005 First Tour of the Towers Rally
In May 2005, the first Tour of Tajikistan was officially held in Xinjiang. In the first Tour of the Towers, individual enthusiasts and clubs from more than 10 provinces across the country participated in the race. A total of 18 cars participated in the car group and 28 cars in the motorcycle group. The number of participating drivers reached As many as 64, and this race also attracted foreign drivers to participate.
The first round of the tower race started on May 1, 2005 and ended on May 10, lasting 10 days. The starting point of the competition was set in Urumqi City, and the end point was in Korla City, passing through Ruoqiang, Lop Nur, Qiemo, Yutian, Hotan, Aksu and other areas. The key stage was set in the eastern part of the Taklimakan Desert, crossing the Hotan River and Keriya River, the road conditions in the road section involve sandy roads, deserts, Gobi, riverbeds, etc. The whole course of the competition is 3,500 kilometers, of which 6 stages have a stage mileage of 1,200 kilometers and a passing mileage of 2,300 kilometers.
In addition to the unexpectedly large team, the first ring tower under the banner of “China Dakar” also attracted a large number of media attention: TV, Xinhua News Agency Xinjiang Branch, Phoenix TV, Guangdong TV, Henan Dahe News, Henan Business Capital Net, Xinjiang TV Station, Xinjiang People’s Broadcasting Station, Xinjiang Economic News, Sohu Xinjiang Net and many other media collectively followed the interview, which also played a role in promoting the influence of the ring tower in the country.
As the first Tournament Tournament, whether it is for the organizers or the racers, the competition is full of unknowns. Although the equipment of different teams is uneven, each contestant faces the same unknown challenge. The first batch of pioneers participated in this competition with more challenges and learning experiences. It can be said that the biggest highlight of the first round of the tower is the spirit of the competition and the dreams of each driver.
The first stage of the competition officially started on May 2nd, from Yuli to the ancient city of Yingpan in Lop Nur, with a total length of 155 kilometers, all of which are sections of the Gobi. In this first stage, the problem of vehicle breakdowns began to entangle most of the drivers. Many participants immediately showed serious lack of preparation in the face of the harsh stage. It can be seen from less than 40 kilometers. When there were successive races crashing and sinking into the sand, bumper breaks, cracked water tanks, shock absorbers damaged, tires scrapped, batteries dropped, and other problems plagued the drivers, even at a place only 10 kilometers away from the end of the first stage, they still A car had no choice but to withdraw due to an accident.
The second stage, which started on May 3, was the 195km distance from Ruoqiang to Qiemo. Due to the unique forecast of the blowing sand in southern Xinjiang that day, and considering alleviating the large-scale racing problem on the first day, it was temporarily changed to a build-up race. As long as the drivers arrive at the designated location within the specified time, they will not be deducted points. This provides a respite for the drivers. In the low-visibility yellow sand, the drivers only need to arrive at the specified speed. However, due to the incomplete rules, the drivers who came to the assembly site in advance had to wait in the dust for the assembly time and the arrival of the large forces.
In the third stage on May 4, the 67-kilometer desert stage from Qiemo to Minfeng was originally planned to be temporarily adjusted again due to the impact of sandstorms. Finally, according to the weather and road conditions, the mileage of this stage was shortened to About 26 kilometers. In the sandy weather, the visibility of less than 20 meters has brought great obstacles to the riders, and also brought difficulties to the organizer's communication and rescue.
On May 5th, the ring tower entered a whole day of rest and transfer. The ring tower team moved from Minfeng to Hotan, but everyone in the ring tower tightened because waiting for their next stage will be The most arduous crossing of the Hetian River stage.
On May 6, the fourth stage, the Hotan stage, started and crossed the Hetian River stage in two centimeters. On this day, it ran the first stage of 100 kilometers. Although it is easy to trap cars on fine sandy roads, and the hot weather in the desert stage has really tested the ability of drivers and cars, the racers have gradually entered the state after the previous day’s race. The rest of the day has also provided many teams to improve their cars. Conditions, most of the players have completed this section of the game relatively smoothly.
On May 7th, it entered the second section of Hotan River, known as the Devil Stage. Although it was only 100 kilometers away, it was all desert. Neither the organizing committee nor the racers expected that the 100-kilometer desert brought not only the vehicle traps like the quicksand river, but also hidden a murderous opportunity. When the brigade crossed the Hotan River halfway through the journey, the vehicles ran out of fuel and food, 26 vehicles and dozens of people were trapped in the middle of the desert. What follows is a moving scene of rescue and self-rescue that will be unforgettable for a lifetime. From 17:30 on the 7th to 16:30 on the 8th, a powerful rescue team was organized in Aksu, which went 120 kilometers deep into the Hotan River and carried out search and rescue operations within a radius of 40 kilometers for 23 hours. At the same time, the racers are also stubbornly resisting the threat of the “sea of death” with their will of life.
On May 9th, it was the last stage of the Xinjiang Tour of Tajikistan. The stage was from Aksu to Kashgar. The format of the competition was a build-up. For the drivers who have just experienced the test of life and death, this stage is simply a sightseeing trip. After enjoying the style of Kashgar, they returned to Aksu to accept the joy of victory. In the end, driver Fu Guangming from Henan Target Team and his navigator Yang Bo won the championship of Car Group A (under 3000CC) with a total time of 6 hours, 58 minutes and 30 seconds.
This event undoubtedly inspired and promoted the development and progress of Xinjiang's auto and motorcycle sports. It was also the first successful attempt of a long-distance cross-country rally event in the same field for China's auto and motorcycle. It should be said that the 2005 Tournament of the Tower was not only the beginning of the Tournament, but also opened a new page in the history of the country's large-scale automobile and motorcycle cross-country races.
The 2nd Tour of the Towers in 2006
After the successful holding of the first Tournament Rally in 2005, the 2006 Tournament attracted more off-road heroes from all over the country, and also attracted the participation of professional off-road vehicle manufacturers such as Mitsubishi, Cheetah, Great Wall, and Landwind. In the end, there were international drivers from Hong Kong, Guangdong, Fujian, Henan, Gansu, Shandong, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Xinjiang, Shanghai, and the United States and Canada. According to the statistics of the 2006 race, there were 65 vehicles in the car group and 59 vehicles in the motorcycle group, 124 cars and 189 racers. It became the largest number of long-distance cross-country participants and vehicles in China at that time.
Compared with 2005, the number of routes for the Tour of Tajikistan this year has increased, and the northern Lop Nur crossing section from Dikaner to Rhoqiang was added in the stage. The total distance of the route is nearly 4000KM. During the competition, due to Dikaner-Ro The two stages of North Ss1-Ss2 and Qiemo Ss7-Ss8 suddenly encountered sand and dust, and the competition team temporarily changed their competition section to a passing section, so the entire competition distance of the competition was 623KM. Participating vehicles and participating drivers also set new highs. The total competition departed from Urumqi on April 29. It took 11 days to climb over the Tianshan Mountains, through the Turpan Basin, and across the Gobi uninhabited area in the north of Lop Nur, then pass through Milan and Ruoqiang into Taklimakan, and then drive out of the desert along the Hotan River. , Line to Aksu to hold the closing ceremony of the competition.
After the exploration of the first round of the tower, the second round of the tower has made great progress in stage design, organizational experience, as well as the experience and equipment of the players, and the scale has been significantly expanded, but the harsh natural environment of the tower is still It is destined to be a game for the brave. This competition was also officially designated as a national-level event by the Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration.
After the opening ceremony and departure ceremony on April 29, the first 290-kilometer passage from Urumqi to Turpan (Wansu Dikaner No. 1 Camp) was carried out. During this period of driving on the expressway, all The drivers all showed a relaxed feeling, but the sandstorm that night raid reminded each car that the tough race will officially come on the second day.
On April 30th, the first stage of the competition officially started. The original plan for this stage was to build a 430-kilometer sand-stone pavement stage from Camp Dikaner 1 to Harrow Road (Camp 2 Luobei Wansu). , But because the sandstorm that blew up the previous night did not abate at all, the tournament organizing committee temporarily decided to change the assembly stage to the passing section. But in the sandstorm with visibility less than 10 meters, the drivers still encountered considerable difficulties. Although near noon, the sandstorm gradually stopped, but it has already made the drivers feel tired. Due to the long distance in the first stage, many vehicle assembly areas were waiting for replenishment due to exhaustion of fuel. However, the organizer's refueling vehicle and logistics vehicle did not arrive that day, causing all the drivers to complain.
On May 1, on the 86.5-kilometer stage from Luobei Camp No. 2 to Hongliujing (Wansu Camp No. 3), the road was composed of saline foam and gravel beach. Although the stage was not long, the news of the rollover from the radio at the beginning of the race brought psychological pressure to all drivers. The process of the race also tested every driver. After this stage, many drivers launched the race due to vehicle damage and personal injury.
On May 2, from Camp 3 to the 36 regiments, a total of 230 kilometers timed stage, the race starts at 12 o'clock, and the closing time is 6 hours. The riders have to be in the soft sand, gravel, saline and other complex areas. In order to qualify for the calculation of the results, pass the 260-kilometer race section at an average speed of not less than 40 kilometers per hour in the road conditions. The changeable road conditions mean that the drivers have to pass through many different geographical features. In this easy-to-lost stage, many drivers accidentally broke into Lop Nur due to insufficiently reliable navigators, trapped in Lop Nor, and even missing drivers. . The ring tower began to show its cruel side here.
On May 3, the drivers who had gone through two consecutive difficult timed stages ushered in a day of rest. This day, the 70-kilometer pass from Camp 4 to Ruoqiang County gave the riders a chance to breathe.
On May 4th, the 350-kilometer fourth stage from Ruoqiang County to Qiemo County was about to start. Although after a day of rest, the drivers seemed to be in good condition, but God seems to want to increase the ring tower intentionally. Challenging-sand and dust are raging again. After discussion by the competition committee, this assembly stage was cancelled and replaced by a road section. Motorcycles and cars set off under the police car in turn until Qiemo. Even so, the increasingly violent sandstorm even forced the passing convoy to stop for a while. After arriving at Qiemo, the news from the organizing committee cast a shadow over everyone's heart: because of the sandstorm, a Grand Cherokee backup car of the organizing committee overturned, causing one fatal and one injured accident. This also allows everyone to re-examine the meaning of this rally.
On May 5, the 69-kilometer race section from Qiemo to Minfeng County started. Although the distance was less than 70 kilometers, the closing time was 6 hours. The competition committee also repeatedly emphasized: It is the most difficult devil stage of the ring tower! Almost all sand and dust formed sand dunes throughout the stage. Car crashes, carts, and car destruction became the theme of this stage. The ruthless roasting of the desert challenged the limits of all people and cars around the tower. Perhaps the result of the race will tell you everything. Only 25 of the 44 vehicles in the motorcycle category finished the race! Many drivers even walked out of this stage on foot. But the good news is that the driver who was lost in the previous stage was finally rescued.
May 6th to 7th are relaxing days. During these two days, the ring tower will be a sightseeing section, from Camp No. 5 to Hotan City, and then to the entrance of Hotan River. The 490-kilometer journey is very relaxing. Riders also experience the fun of swimming in this section of the road, feeling the vastness of the Taklimakan Desert.
The Hotan River stage, which started on May 8th, is also the last stage. The 240-kilometer schedule and the 8-hour closing time require a vehicle speed of not less than 30 km/h. The Hotan River is unpredictable, and a gust of wind will cause great changes in the topography of the river. But the desire for the finish made every driver doubly excited. In the end, Huo Jianming and Cao Hui from the China National Petroleum Team won the car group A championship, and Li Jicheng and Song Wendong from the Landwind team won the car group B championship.
In the second round of the tower competition, the disappearance of personnel and the appearance of casualties made everyone begin to re-examine the severity of the competition. As the “Oriental Dakar” round of the tower competition, it also has its own cruel side, but On the other hand, this also stimulates every driver and brings the desire of the participants to be more challenging. In addition, as a long-distance cross-country competition not long after its birth, the organizer’s experience and lack of investment have been revealed in this competition. While acknowledging that the organizer has been innovative and bold in holding our true cross-country rally, everyone has also felt that the tower With the organizational gap between Dakar and Dakar, the drivers can feel their expectations for the future of the ring tower while putting forward their opinions and suggestions on the race.
2007 3rd Tour of the Towers
The third Tour of the Towers in 2007 was held as scheduled on May 1. The Tournament attracted as many as 36 automobile teams and 18 motorcycle teams from 18 provinces and regions across the country, with 174 participating vehicles. Among them, there were 101 cars in the car group and 73 motorcycles in the motorcycle group, with 275 contestants. A total of 64 car racing cars and 42 motorcycle racing cars completed the race in this event, with a finish rate of nearly 60%. It is also worth mentioning that among them, famous Chinese drivers such as Lu Ningjun, Liu Bin, Men Guangyuan, Zhou Yong, Hua Qingxian, and Dutch driver Marnix Deibert who participated in the Dakar also signed up for this event.
This race officially started on May 1, 2007, and lasted 11 days. The total distance of the race is 3,178 kilometers, of which 5 stages are 776.96 kilometers. The route of travel is from Urumqi through the Tianshan Mountains to Korla on the northern edge of the Taklimakan Desert, then west to Ruoqiang County, to Qiemo County in the southeast of the desert, and Yutian County on the southern edge of the desert. Liyabuyi will return to Tianxian County to Hotan City in the southwest of the desert, and then along the Hotan River north through the desert to Aksu City, the pearl of the Western Regions on the northern edge of the desert.
In this third Tournament Rally, the China Automobile Federation and China Motor Federation supervised and guided the entire race. Since 2007, the Tournament Rally has officially become the Xinjiang station in the national four-wheel drive rally series. The increasingly regular competition also attracted outstanding domestic and even foreign Dakar drivers, such as Lu Ningjun and Zhou Yong. In terms of organization, this competition focused on strengthening logistics, rescue, satellite communications and other guarantees, and the scale was about three times larger than the previous one.
On May 2, the first stage of the 2007 Tour of Tajikistan was the Sinil stage, which started from Korla to the Sinil Reservoir. “The road seems to be flat, but there are big pits and sharp bends in the middle, hidden dangers. The dangers continued during the race. According to reports at the time, we learned that the brakes of Changfeng Cheetah Racing's No. 168 car failed and rolled for a few laps. All the windshield All were broken, the front cover and compartment of the car were deformed, and the three tires were punctured. Fortunately, the driver was not injured. At the closing point, four motorcycles collided in a series of rear-end collisions. HT315 driver Wei Guanghui broke his clavicle and withdrew from the race; last year's motorcycle champion Cao Lu The tire punctured, failed to complete the race, and lost the chance to win the championship. The organizing committee of the event said that there were 11 cars in the Sinil stage, 3 motorcycles did not complete the race, 3 cars overturned, and some vehicles got lost.
On May 4th, the Qimo Yingwu Sitang stage of the Ring-Tower Auto and Motor Cross Country Rally was in Yingwu Sitang Township, with a total length of only 68.02 kilometers, which is a traditional “devil stage”. The game is expected to take 1 hour and 40 minutes, with a maximum time of 5 hours. More than two hours after the start of the game, Lu Ningjun was the first to run the course smoothly, but he only won the second place in the stage of the day. Subsequently, Liu Bin and Hua Qingxian also finished the game successively. But less than two hours before the closing time of the stage, according to the registration staff at the pick-up point, only 48 cars and one motorcycle came out, most of which were still trapped in the desert. By the closing time, there were still four cars and more than 20 motorcycles stuck in the desert unable to come out, and rescue vehicles went to the rescue immediately. The Unimog truck that went to the rescue at two in the morning was full of rescued motorcycles, and other rescue vehicles were still intensively rescued. All the trapped vehicles have been found that day, and the life of the trapped racers can be guaranteed.
May 6th and 8th are the Keliya round-trip stage. This section is regarded as the most difficult stage of the competition. The car will be distributed at 7:30 in the morning on May 8. In the short tens of kilometers from Dali Yabuyi Township to the departure point of the Kria River mouth, there were car traps and broken cars one after another, and the next track would be even more difficult. This time around the tower there are five special stages, of which the Kria River stage occupies two. These two stages took three days, and the vehicles arriving at the camp were seriously damaged. It was almost impossible to carry out major maintenance operations in the camp, and the competition was cruel. The Keriya stage is not only difficult for road conditions, but also for the team's logistics, communications, and rescue. There was a sandstorm in the morning, the road ahead was blurred, and the car was slow, but there were still many vehicles stuck in the desert. The reporters and rescuers who followed pushed out the car to ensure the smooth flow of the track.
On May 11th, the Tower Rally entered the final stage of the Hetian River stage. The overall ranking of the stage has been announced. The top three in the automobile group are Fan Xiao and Liao Min of the Changfeng Cheetah Racing No. 166, Liu Bin and Liu Gang of the Changfeng Cheetah Racing No. 167, Lu Ningjun and Wang Xiaolin of the No. 108 Triangle Carle Cross-Country Racing Team, and the top three in the motorcycle group. It is Wang Jiafeng, No. 613 Yinchuan Speed Racing Team, No. 607 Beijing Runliu Team Yang Yonggang, and No. 608 Beijing Runliu Team Yuan Jinrong.
The exciting end of the race at 7:30 am on May 11th, the last stop of the 2007 China Xinjiang Ring-Tower Auto Motocross Rally and the 2007 National Four-wheel Drive Rally Series Xinjiang Station-Hetian River stage started. The racers suffocated their energy and rushed to the finish line. At 10:30, Liu Bin and Liu Gang, the leader of the 167 car team, Feng Liebao, crossed the finish line first. The overall championship of the automobile group was won by Liu Bin and Liu Gang of Changfeng Cheetah Racing Team. Wang Jiafeng of Yinchuan Speed Racing Team won the HT6 group (400CC group displacement) motorcycle group championship.
The 2007 Ring-Tower Race was organized by the China Automobile Sports Federation and China Motor Sports Association with the assistance of Xinjiang Ring-Tank Motorsports Club Co., Ltd. In terms of organization, support, stage design and temporary contingency, it was compared to previous sessions. Significant improvement. In May 2005, May 2006, and May 2007, the successful holding of the three consecutive Tour of the Towers Rally promoted the development and progress of Xinjiang and even China's automobile and motorcycle sports industry.
2008 4th Tour of the Towers Rally
In the 2008 Tour of Tajikistan, the scale of the race was once again expanded. A total of 222 riders from 14 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, Hong Kong and Denmark, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xinjiang, Shandong, Henan, and Inner Mongolia, participated in this race. Among them, There are a total of 86 racing cars participating in the automobile group competition, and a total of 50 racing cars participating in the motorcycle group competition. Liu Bin, Xu Lang, Lu Ningjun, Zhou Yong and others were also cancelled due to Dakar in the same year and appeared in the ring tower.
The 4th Tour of Tajikistan has a total length of 3,000 kilometers, which is the longest in the history of the race. The special stage is 992 kilometers and there are 8 stages, including gravel roads, Gobi roads, river beach roads, and deserts. The competition lasted for 13 days and will end in Aksu on May 13.
The increased length of the stage brought greater challenges to the drivers. At the same time, as the fourth round of the tower event, more well-known drivers also joined in. Compared with the themes of previous explorations and challenges, more drivers set the goal for better results. In addition, the Golden Helmet Award introduced by this competition is eye-catching. Its originality is to encourage drivers to compete for the first place in each stage.
The first stage of this round of the tower officially kicked off on May 2nd, from Shanshan to Dikaner, the whole course is 113.63KM, the first half of the stage is shallow sand with large ups and downs, and the second half is a rut road. , The road is relatively smooth. Although there are washboard roads, big ditch and river ditch on the track, for the masters, this stage is still too simple for them. Liu Bin of the United Lubricant Team drove the “Dakar version” of the Mitsubishi car to finish the race first in 1 hour and 01 minutes. He said after the race: “This stage is too simple. It is just a straight acceleration. Whoever has a good car will definitely do it. fast.”
The race on May 3 starts from the lowest point of my country’s Ading Lake. The whole journey is 86.79KM low altitude (between -100). The road is dominated by Gobi, with obvious sand and gravel roadbeds. It is a fast track. The segment is characterized by high speed and multiple bends. At least 5 cars and 8 motorcycles were retired that day, and two motorcyclists were seriously injured. The Tour of Tajikistan ushered in the first small peak of retirement.
After a day off in Korla, the 5th Tour of Tajikistan continued to go south. The third stage of the competition was from Korla to the 35th regiment, with a total distance of 238.14 kilometers and a special stage of 199.11 kilometers. This stage was used in 2007, so for some experienced drivers, it is relatively easy to deal with.
The competition on May 6 was from 34 regiments (formerly 35 regiments) to 36 regiments. The total length of the stage was 259.57 kilometers, of which the special stage was 62.54 kilometers. Due to the construction of the 218 National Road, the race director Zhu Chenguang announced at the driver's meeting on the evening of the 5th that the special stage was reduced to 42 kilometers. However, the Ruoqiang area started to be windy last night, and the wind reached level 4 on the morning of the match day. Due to its location in a desert area, the fourth-level wind has turned the stage into blowing sand. Some of the PC point referee's logos were blown away. The organizers also foresee that continuing the race in such weather will bring great danger to the drivers, and eventually this stage was cancelled.
In the following stage, the Yingwu Sitang stage has always been regarded as the classic stage of the Tour of the Towers and the most difficult stage. It is called the “devil stage” by the local media. However, this “famous reputation” may not exist after this tournament. A driver named Zhang Zhongbin from Urumqi took the first place in this stage with a time of 1 hour, 13 minutes and 51 seconds, beating Liu Bin, Xu Lang, Zhou Yong and many other famous players, making this Tour of Towers a big hit again. Unpopular.
The 08 Ring Tower Rally was held on the 10th in the Andil area of Minfeng. Minfeng is a key point in southern Xinjiang, but an oasis surrounded by deserts. Zhou Yong (HT182) of the Jiangsu Hardcore Team passed the finish line for the third time in 2 hours, 54 minutes and 58 seconds. However, he has already opened a gap of nearly 20 minutes from the second place in terms of total results, and continues to lead in terms of total results. Since there is still the last stage of the Hotan River on the 12th in this race, as long as there is no accident, the winner of the Tour of Tajikistan will change hands again.
The 08 Rally Rally ushered in the final final battle on May 12th. The battlefield was the dry riverbed of the Hetian River. This was the eighth stage of the competition. The total score leader, Jiangsu hardcore 4X4 team's Zhou Yong steadily hit the end of the Hetianhe stage third, but with a total time of 12 hours, 32 minutes and 20 seconds, he finally won the Tournament Rally Championship. Fan Xiao of Changfeng Cheetah Racing Team finished runner-up, 22 minutes and 11 seconds behind Zhou Yong. Wu Dajun of Great Wall Motorsport won the third place with a total score of 13 hours 00 minutes 54 seconds.
With the gradual increase in the number of round-the-tower competitions, great progress has been made in both the organization of the competition and the promotion of the media. At the same time, the participation of more experienced drivers has also increased the intensity of the competition to a higher level. In addition to the basic purpose of completing the challenge, more and more drivers are focusing on better On grades.
2010 5th Tour of the Towers Rally
The 2009 Tournament of the Tower was forced to terminate for one year due to political reasons. This year's Tour of the Towers race lasted for 8 days, with a length of 3,800 kilometers, which was the longest and most difficult time in the previous Tournament Tournaments. The competition is mainly concentrated in the eastern Xinjiang region of Tuhaha. Along the way, there are long yellow sands, vast Gobi, spongy sand dunes, Yadan landforms, mysterious and unpredictable Devil City, closely connected desert oasis, ancient silk road with a long history, and very exotic. The national cultural monuments complement each other. Zhu Chenguang, director of the Tournament Organizing Committee, reminded all participants that compared with previous years, the difficulty and intensity of this year's stage must not be underestimated. In addition to the hot and difficult environment in Xinjiang, the stages will be more difficult one by one, and every day will be a new tough battle.
The race started on May 28th. The starting stage of the competition came from 36 automobile teams from 18 provinces and regions across the country, with a total of 126 vehicles, including 80 in the automobile group and 46 in the motorcycle group. There were a total of 206 participants. . As of May 11, a total of 49 cars and 36 motorcycles have completed the race, with a completion rate of nearly 70%.
The difficult race resulted in a low completion rate, and the restarted race attracted countless off-road vehicle enthusiasts who like to challenge. As the re-hosting after a lapse of one year, all walks of life have also given high expectations for this competition.
At 6 o'clock in the morning on May 29, the media convoy set off first. Due to the omissions in the organization of the event, all media cars have no road books. The team enters the Gobi and everything depends on its own! On this day, the famous driver Men Guangyuan ran more than ten kilometers of wronged roads before returning to the correct route. On the 30th, he took the wrong route again and fell into the sand.
The race on the 30th was launched at the Nanhu Township stage. The special stage was 252 kilometers long, which was the longest stage since the start of the race. The second half of the game is the same as the line before PC1 in the first stage. According to the organizer, the beginning part of the game has become more difficult. There are 4 WPVs in a section of less than 30 kilometers (the conference’s supplementary rule: losing a WPV will result in a penalty of 1 hour), and there are at least four yellow flags (dangerous) signs in the stage. Therefore, careful driving has become the most important thing for every driver.
Due to road repairs on the driving section leading to the starting point of the Camel Circle stage in the third stage, the conference did not make changes to the road book until 12 o'clock in the evening on the 30th, but the next day, many media still failed to find the way to the starting point of SS3. In this stage, Liu Bin of the Chengdu Rural Commercial Bank Zhongzhixing Team won the championship again, finishing first in 2 hours, 26 minutes and 09 seconds. He continues to rank first in the total score, with a result of 8 hours and 16 seconds. Minutes and 39 seconds. He also won the second “Golden Helmet Award.”
The 4th stage will be held on June 1st. The special stage is 184.65 kilometers and the total length is 407.58 kilometers. This stage is the last stage of the Hami stage. The second half of the game is played in the Yadan landform of the “Five Fort Devil City”. According to Zhu Chenguang, the race director, there are many ruts and forks in the first half, making it easy to get lost and the road more bumpy. There is no desert here, mainly Gobi and riverbeds. But he suggested that when entering the Yadan landform, the riders can pay attention to appreciate the surrounding scenery. On June 2nd, the Tour of Tajikistan will usher in the “transition day”, and the team and drivers will usher in a relaxing day. The rally army will move to Shanshan, 240 kilometers west of Hami, to prepare for the final two stages of the competition.
The No. 058 motorcycle is driven by Zhou Tian, who has participated in the Tour of Tajikistan many times. This time he played for the China Xinyuan International Off-Road Team. In the Turpan stage on June 3, Zhou Tian was the first motorcyclist to finish the race. He and Liu Bin from the car team passed the finish line. There are 81 cars and 45 motorcycles for the car group of this year's Tour of the Tajikistan. As of this stage, 6 motorcyclists and 19 auto riders have withdrawn from the Tour of the Towers. In terms of total results, the Xinjiang driver Zakkar slipped to 19th in the motorcycle category, Zhou Tian and Fang Ming. Jihe Qu Songdong ranked in the top three, and Colombian MATEO ranked 22nd. Liu Kun, Xu Weiyu, and Zhou Yong became the top three in the automobile group, and veteran Lu Ningjun ranked 27th in total.
