[YesAuto News] At this Geneva Motor Show, Audi brought 17 models to the exhibition. Among them, the world premiere of the two-door coupe A5 and high-performance S5 has become the focus of attention.
A lot of Nuvolari concept car elements are incorporated into the design of Audi A5. The new car is equipped with an FSI gasoline direct injection engine, a new 3.0-liter 240-horsepower TDI diesel direct injection engine, a new generation of quattro full-time four-wheel drive system, and two optional transmissions-a 6-speed manual transmission and a new 8-speed multitronic Stepless/manual integrated gearbox, etc.
The Audi A5 has a top speed of 250 km/h and fuel consumption per 100 km of 7.2 liters.
Also released at the same time as A5 is the high-performance S5.
The Audi S5 is equipped with a 4.2-liter V8 FSI gasoline engine with a maximum power of about 354 horsepower and a peak torque of about 440N·m/3500rpm. It is equipped with the latest 6-speed manual transmission and Audi’s famous quattro full-time four-wheel drive system. It only takes 5.1 seconds to accelerate to 100km/h.
Audi S5 targets directly at BMW M3 Coupe and Mercedes-Benz CLK AMG, and the competition among the three major German automakers is bound to become more intense in the future.
