[YesAuto Test Drive] In the past two years, people have paid more and more attention to SUV models. It is more convenient than ordinary cars for outings and storage for people. Therefore, there are more and more urban SUV products for ordinary users. . At this year's Beijing Auto Show, Haima Automobile also launched their first SUV product-Haima Rider.

Auto Show Shanghai Horse Knight announced the final price of its top model, and 136,800 yuan is a very affordable price. Navigation, sunroof, automatic air-conditioning, electric seats, etc. are also very rich in configuration, I believe everyone will also look at it. There are many related reports, but these are only limited to the static part. Everyone is more concerned about whether it is good or not. Therefore, in the test drive of the Seahorse Rider, the driving part is also our focus.

In addition to the 2.0 top-of-the-line models that have been on the market before this test drive, there is also a 2.0 luxury model that has not announced the price. There is basically no big difference in the appearance and interior design, and we have There has been a detailed introduction to the top models of the Cavaliers, so we will not repeat them here.

Let's get into the topic below and see how the Seahorse Rider performs in driving. First of all, let’s take a look at its power core. At present, the Haima Rider has only a 2.0L displacement model. It is equipped with a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine independently developed by Haima Motor, with dual VVT technology, which can burst with a maximum power of 110kW. As well as the maximum torque of 180N·m, such power does not seem to be sufficient for an SUV model.

The seahorse rider’s own weight is close to 1.5 tons, and if it is fully loaded, it is already close to 2 tons. Faced with such a weight, we do not have much expectations for the power performance of the 2.0 engine, even during a test drive. I have already characterized it as a very “flesh” off-road vehicle…

So far, Haima Rider has only introduced manual transmission models. It is a pity that there is no automatic transmission, and it will lose a large part of users, and it is easier for an SUV to have automatic transmission.

In the early days of the test drive, the seahorse rider felt almost the same as what I had previously expected. There was no power at all. However, after careful experience, I found that this feeling actually comes from the accelerator pedal. The extremely slow accelerator response makes the engine power unable It broke out very quickly, and the 2.0 engine itself is biased towards high-speed output, which makes the performance of the Seahorse Rider in the low-to-medium speed stage can only be described as “flesh”, especially when it starts.

After understanding the real situation, we tried to increase the speed, and the shift speed was kept at about 3000 rpm. At this time, the impact of slow throttle response does not seem to be so obvious. The speed increase in the high-speed range will still make you feel. There is a little feeling of pushing back, and then you really realize the power performance limited by the throttle just now. Here we can say that the performance of this 2.0L engine is still very good, and if you can adjust the throttle more sensitively Some dynamic response will be better!

In addition, the braking force needs to be more sensitive, or it may be because the brakes of the new car have not been completely run-in. However, from the test drive, I feel that the first half of the brake pedal force is not linear enough, and the first half of the effect is not obvious. Step on it to feel the obvious braking effect.

The seahorse rider uses a multi-link rear suspension, and through actual experience, it can be said that the suspension tuning is very in place, especially the support for the body is very good. Although the suspension height is relatively high as an SUV model, it rolls on the curve. It's not obvious, and the suspension still has a certain degree of stiffness on some potholes, which helps a lot to improve handling.

In fact, it may be a bit redundant to talk about the handling of SUVs, but for an urban SUV, although it does not need to be as extreme as a sports car, flexible handling is also a quality that should be possessed. After all, it must often shuttle in the city's traffic. In addition to the excellent chassis and suspension, the accuracy of the steering system is also commendable, and the response is not as slow as the general SUV. However, the unsatisfactory thing here is that the steering wheel is too light, which has a great impact on the stability at high speed. It may be easy to park in this way, but after all, it has already affected the safety. It is still recommended to strengthen the steering wheel.

The above is about some of the feelings of Seahorse Rider in driving, then let's take a look at the difference between the configuration of the Seahorse Rider Deluxe Edition and the top-equipped navigation version…

In our past articles, you have already learned about some of the Haima Rider “Navigation Edition” models, and the luxury version of our test drive this time is basically the same as the navigation version in appearance and interior, but there are some differences in configuration.

If you have to find a little difference between the high-profile and low-profile models, the only thing is the tires. The high-profile models use Giti tires with white lettering, while the low-profile models use Hankook tires. The specifications are also 235/70 R16, but I don't know if there will be changes after the official sales of low-end models in the future.

Configuration change 1: High-end models with mirror folding

Configuration change 2: High-end models with navigation and reversing image functions

Configuration change 3: Automatic air-conditioning for high-end models and manual air-conditioning for low-end models

Configuration change 4: high configuration is electric seat adjustment, low configuration is manual adjustment

Configuration change 5: high-end models with sunroof

The above are some of the differences between the low-end version and the high-end version of the Seamaster Rider. In the low-end models, the sunroof, navigation, automatic air conditioning, electronically adjustable seats, and folding rearview mirrors have been removed. These main features are It's the comfort and convenience of images.

Test drive summary:

It can be said that the Seamaster Rider is a qualified product as a city SUV. First of all, it has a relatively high level of workmanship. In addition, the price is also very close to the people. The top models with rich configuration are only 136,800, which are comparable to products of the same level. The ratio of price/performance ratio is already quite good. In terms of driving, except for the extremely slow throttle, I think it can reach 80 points. Unfortunately, it does not currently have four-wheel drive models or automatic transmission models. For most SUV users, these two points are still very attractive.

In addition, for this low-profile model that has not yet announced the price, many friends may think that the configuration has been reduced too much, but I still believe in the saying that you get what you pay for. The price of this model in the future will definitely be a price. A more affordable price, and for those consumers who don't have too much budget, low-end models may be a good choice.
