[YesAuto News] On June 7th, Faraday Future (Faraday Future, hereinafter referred to as FF), an American electric car company invested by Jia Yueting, officially announced that it has obtained official permission from the Hanford government to cover an area of 1 million square feet. The Hanford plant in China put into production the first mass production car FF 91, and the products will be delivered by the end of 2018 as scheduled.
FF said that Hanford's factory is located between Los Angeles and Silicon Valley, the two largest electric vehicle markets in the United States. The Hanford factory plans to hire 1,300 employees and perform three shifts of uninterrupted production work every day.
FF91 first appeared at the CES show in Las Vegas in January 2017, but it was suspended due to negative conditions such as shortage of funds, loss of personnel, and crisis of trust. Until February 2018, Jia Yueting announced that FF had received US$1.5 billion in financing, and it was likely to “bottom out”. In addition, the first global supplier summit was held at the R&D headquarters in Gardena, California, and promised to deliver the first production car before the end of 2018.
Jia Yueting said: “FF 91 is not only an electric car, it is a new species, but also a third Internet living space”, and commented that FF 91 is a “disruptive product.” Public information shows that the FF 91 has a battery life of up to 608 kilometers, breaks a hundred in 2.39 seconds, and has a maximum output power of 783kW (1050PS). It will also have functions such as AI and facial recognition.
FF is headquartered in Southern California, but its infiltration into China is also proceeding simultaneously. In February 2018, SMART MOBILITY (HONG KONG) HOLDINGS LIMITED (previously used Chinese name: Fafa Automobile Ecology (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd.) registered a wholly-owned company named Rui Chi Intelligent Automobile (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd., with the registered capital US$300 million, the legal representative Wang Zhigang, whose registered domicile is the same as that of Jia Yueting's hometown, is located in Beijiaoyou Village, Fencheng, Xiangfen County, Shanxi Province. It is reported that the FF China headquarters will also land in Guangzhou, and then fully land in China. At the end of April, some media reported that two FF91 electric vehicles had been cleared from Chinese customs and shipped to LeTV's office in Jiuxianqiao, Beijing. This was also considered to be a preparation for the official domestic mass production of FF91.
