At the forum, Li Shao, deputy general manager of GAC Group, talked about the achievements of GAC Group's cooperation with foreign auto companies and the impact of the liberalization of joint venture share ratios on GAC Group.

On April 17 this year, the National Development and Reform Commission announced that in 2018, restrictions on foreign shareholding in special vehicles and new energy vehicles will be lifted; restrictions on foreign shareholding in commercial vehicles will be lifted in 2020; foreign shareholding restrictions in passenger vehicles will be lifted in 2022, and joint ventures will be canceled at the same time Do not exceed the limit of two.

Li Shao said frankly that the liberalization of the joint venture stock ratio will have a huge impact on GAC. The development of GAC Group started from joint ventures and cooperation. Since 1998, GAC Group has successively reached cooperation with foreign brands such as Honda and Toyota. In the process of joint ventures and cooperation, GAC Group has improved its manufacturing and customer service levels. At the same time, it has enriched and enriched GAC Group's product line, and has also accumulated capital, talents and management experience for GAC Group's independent entrepreneurship.

GAC Group has already reached cooperation with six foreign brands, and the liberalization of the joint venture share ratio will bring challenges to the development of GAC Group. In response to policy changes, GAC Group will further deepen joint ventures and cooperation while insisting on independent innovation. Li Shao believes that for car companies, the most efficient development method is joint venture cooperation and independent innovation at the same time. It is necessary to adhere to joint venture cooperation, complement each other's advantages, and accelerate progress, but also adhere to independent innovation and positive research and development. Improve technical strength.

At the specific implementation level, GAC Group will improve the quality of joint venture cooperation, expand the depth of cooperation, increase cooperation in the research and development of electric vehicle products, and the introduction of high-end brands from partners. At the same time, cooperation in areas such as product research and development, parts, automotive aftermarket, and automotive services will be further strengthened, and joint venture cooperation will be gradually extended from the local market to the international market.

Li Shao believes that the development of China's auto industry to this day has been different from the initial stage of the joint venture. “In the past, we purely imported foreign technology, brands and products. Now we have progressed to the point where we can export technology to the joint venture.” GAC Group is independent The brand plans to import pure electric vehicle technology to GAC Toyota, GAC Honda and GAC Fick. At the same time, in the joint venture, the GAC Group is also developing its own R&D capabilities, R&D teams, and R&D facilities, striving to complement each other's advantages in the cooperative relationship between the two parties and each meets their needs.

In terms of independent brand innovation, Li Shao introduced that the GAC Research Institute already has a relatively complete development capability for conventional cars and new energy vehicles. So far, it has completed the development and marketing of two series and 18 complete vehicle products. In order to adapt to new trends in the development of the industry, GAC Group will further concentrate its efforts on technological innovation in areas such as intelligent driving, new energy vehicles, and Internet of Vehicles.
