Reason for recall:
For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, due to supplier manufacturing reasons, the internal pressure of the gas generator may rise abnormally when the airbag in front of the driver's seat is deployed. In extreme cases, the gas generator may be damaged, posing a safety hazard.
In the early morning of October 24th, Beijing time, Nissan Motor Company stated that the company will recall 260,000 vehicles worldwide, mainly because of defects in the driver's seat airbags provided by Takata. Japanese auto parts manufacturer Takata is currently at the center of a series of car recalls caused by airbag problems. These airbags provided by Takata have defects, which may cause parts to fly when the airbag is deployed and cause personal injury. The domestic recall is part of Nissan's global recall.
Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. and Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will replace the inflator parts of qualified driving seat airbags for free of charge for vehicles within the scope of the recall to eliminate potential safety hazards.
