Behind the good looks, what the two professional car designers saw is the increase in cost. Compared with the old thick-line grille decoration, the new car adopts a dot matrix layout, with the size of the small rectangular bright strips in the grille. The difference (the technical term is the use of parametric design) makes the grille more layered and three-dimensional.
The shape of the LED daytime running lights is the iconic design of a new generation of Peugeot. The car and SUV series are fully adopted. It is like a fangs, but also like a saber. It is very eye-catching when lit. As a long-term test of the new generation of Peugeot 508L, I thought it was a bit awkward at first. When I am used to it, I like this bold and jumpy design. Designer Wang Lumeng believes that the interior of the 5008 is more worthy of recognition, saying that the design philosophy and methods of Peugeot have been learned and used by many car companies, such as the ergonomic design of steering wheel and instrumentation, and piano-style central control buttons. Wait.
The ergonomic design of the instrument panel and steering wheel of the Peugeot family is relatively unique. For a long time, people have been accustomed to seeing instrument information from the hollow of the steering wheel, but French cars are not stuck with this.
The two young designers have a bit of obsessive-compulsive disorder (professionalism), “Although the button design in the row below looks very beautiful, you will find that the gap between the buttons is still slightly uneven.” This is actually avoidable in design, such as filling in transitional decorations, but for the sake of simplicity and unity of style, perhaps French designers did not care about these details.
Although the 5008 has three rows of seats and is close to 4.7 meters in length, its interior width is not too large. How to make the car look more spacious, in fact, designers have a lot of tricks to “deceive the eyes”.
The second method is named “Length and Shortness Comparison Method” for the time being. For example, Peugeot 4008 and 5008 divide the instrument panel into upper and lower layers. The upper layer is longer and the lower layer is shorter. The contrast of one long and one short will give the human visual experience.
