Without further ado, let's look at the product. The 1.8-liter model tested today is equipped with an engine code-named Nu. Its existence fills the gap between the 1.6-liter γ-engine and the 2.0-liter θ-II engine. It has variable valve timing for intake and exhaust. The technology, matched with it is a six-speed automatic manual gearbox, which is the leading configuration of the same level.

Sitting in the car, looking down at his feet, a lot of surprises. The inner wall of the carriage behind the pedals is covered with a smooth cushion. In daily driving, the gearbox has the right timing for up and down shifts, smooth movements, and very competent performance. What I did not expect is that the response speed of the steering wheel shift paddles is also one of the best in the same level. It almost makes up for the lack of setting S gear, but then again. There are really not many cars with paddles. After repeated attempts, I found that this 6AT gearbox was a little restless in the cruising state, and the throttle depth was slightly increased and immediately responded with a downshift. Maybe young consumers would like it.

No significant improvement was found in the chassis, suspension, and steering. The rear suspension is still in the form of a trailing arm torsion beam. The rear ride comfort is ordinary, the shock absorber damping is small, and the control of longitudinal runout needs to be strengthened. The steering feels lighter, and it is convenient and labor-saving for daily use. As for the road feel feedback, this type of experience is average.

Hyundai recently likes to design the reversing image display screen on the rear mirror of the car. You don’t need to look down at the screen to improve the safety factor. The starting point is very good, and it must be praised first. There are still some problems during use. In a dim environment like the basement, the image is clear and bright, but in the open-air environment on the ground, it becomes a translucent effect against the image of the outside of the car, which is difficult to look at. In addition, if you follow the design The viewer’s idea is to reverse the car while looking back in the mirror while looking at the reversing image, and the eyes have to constantly adjust the focus on this glass plane, which is even more laborious. Newly-purchased consumers really have more practice.

Comparing the configuration table, you can see the progress of the manufacturer in the safety concept. Now the 1.6-liter top-mounted model has begun to be equipped with ESP system, and the 1.8-liter top-mounted model we tested is also equipped with front and rear side air curtains, tire pressure monitoring and other configurations. Performance test

Look at the performance test results. The best result of this 1.8-liter Langdong in the test field is 10.41 seconds, which belongs to the first echelon in the same level.

The tires slipped slightly at the start, but the grip quickly recovered and the body rushed out in a more stable posture. The graph shows that the initial G value is not prominent, but the 0.5g level has been maintained for close to 1 second, which is worthy of recognition. Throughout the acceleration process, the gearbox showed the level it should be, and the upshift action was fast enough.

The braking performance is relatively ordinary, and the final result is 42.61 meters, which is not up to the excellent standard. At the test site, it can be seen that the posture of the body during the sudden braking is fairly good, the front suspension support is in place, and there is no obvious “nodding” phenomenon. The graph shows that the braking system is not strong enough, and the tire grip has room for improvement.

Fuel consumption test

We conducted a 177.8 km fuel consumption test for Langdong, with an adult male driver and a number of photographic equipment. The air conditioner is turned on at 24°C with medium air volume, and the vehicle's ECO economy mode is not turned on. The driving computer showed that it took 6 hours and 11 minutes and the average speed was 30km/h. The road conditions included about 20 kilometers of expressways, and the rest were ordinary roads with signal lights and congestion.

The final vehicle consumes 17.94 liters of fuel, which translates to 10.1 liters/100 kilometers. On the surface, the number is not low. Considering that the test car only drove a few hundred kilometers before the break-in period, the overall road conditions are congested, and the ECO mode is not turned on, we think this number is in line with the prediction.

Noise perception

Langdong’s practice in some details is worthy of recognition. Langdong represents the highest level of Hyundai Motor in the field of compact family cars. Many people will compare it with the new Lavida of the Volkswagen Group. On the product side, Hyundai Motors is very sincere. It has made qualitative improvements inside and out, and it has separated from Yuedong. The interior materials and workmanship are even more sophisticated than those of Longyi; in contrast, the change of Langyi It just stays on the surface, relying on family faces to attract attention and lacks innovative spirit, but I have to admit that this trick is very accurate to hit the hearts of potential consumers, and the public has a strong ability to read the Chinese market.

The issue of price cannot be ignored. Under the same configuration level, the price of Langdong is about 15,000 to 20,000 lower than that of Langyi, which is not a small amount at this price. The situation on the court will be clearer now. Those who value cost-effectiveness and do not have a public complex will of course choose Langdong. And Langyi wants to continue its previous glory. Appropriate price reduction is the most effective countermeasure. Finally, I would like to say a word to the domestic independent brands. I hope you will have more sense of mission, less profit-driven, more originality such as Yidong, EC7, and less vests such as D50 and Siming.
